Butter Beans In Sesame Sauce
The use of sesame seeds included in this recipe, is useful as sesame seeds contain nearly eight times as much calcium by weight as dairy milk.
I would serve this dish with 250g basmati rice.
Ingredients
- 100ml of oil
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1 large onion chopped in what ever shape you like
- 100g seame seeds finely ground
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 1 200g tin of tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon of ground tumeric
- 1 teaspoon of chilli flakes
- 2 425g tins of butterbeans
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds and fry until they begin to crackle. Add the onion and fry until soft and trans parent.
- Add the ground sesame seeds and fry for 3-5 minutes,then add the ground coriander and fry for a further minute.
- Stir in the tomatoes, chilli powder and turmeric. Mix well and cook the sauce for 3-5 minutes.
- Add the drained beans and stir carefully until well coated with the sauce.
- Simmer until the beans are thoroughly hot.
