Sunflower Seed flapjacks
This was my mum's recipe, and well we had some sunflower seeds to use up.
Ingredients
- 8 oz rolled oats
- 4 oz sunflower seeds
- 5 oz maragerine
- 4 oz demerara sugar
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
This receipe is in oz... dear Mum never went metric in weights.
Instructions
- Turn on oven to 160 deg C (Fan).
- Put baking paper into tray 12" x 8".
- Put margarine sugar and syrup into saucepan, and heat gently until the sugar disolves.
- Stir in the oats and sunflower seeds and mix well.
- Spread mixture in the tin and bake on centre shelf until golden (20 minutes), don't be tempted anymore, unless you like your flapjack brittle.
- Mark into 18 squares, while still warm but leave to cool, freezes.
